What's L.I.T.?

The Leader In Training program is for youth ages 12-14, to get together, make new friends, develop their leadership skills, and have fun! LIT's gather in their own age group to play games, explore camp's theme, and challenge themselves and each other in leadership skills and activities. They work together to decide what they're most interested in leading - following their gifts and passions. LITs work as a team to share with the wider camp! Past LIT projects include...

• Building a slip and slide for all campers to enjoy
• Leading the whole camp in making meditation jars
• Helping to serve snack and lunch to each age group
• Creating playful videos to share information about the camp's outreach projects
• Helping campers to enjoy the playground or craft activities during free play time
• Leading outreach projects like paper-making or a garbage clean-up

LITs also participate in camp-wide activities like out-trips to the park or to the beach, special guests, and camp gatherings and celebrations. Coming to Camp Spirit as an LIT is a fun way to hang out with other youth, learn something new, play games and have fun!
