Truth and Reconciliation Learning Lab: Unpacking the TRC Calls to Action Together

Each month the Weird Church Truth & Reconciliation Team will be hosting a community wide conversation on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission 94 Calls to Action where experts in their subject will be coming to educate, communicate, and host discussion.
These public education and discussion forums will be presenting in the following subjects:
May: Child Welfare
June: Education
July & August: Pause for Summer
September: Justice
October: Reconciliation
November: Language and Culture
Dec/Jan: Health
About Lelaina Jules:
My traditional name is ƛ̓akʷapiqa, which can be loosely translated to ‘copper on top’, and I also go by Lelaina Jules. I am a woman, she/her, from the Hesquiaht First Nation, one of the fourteen Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations, located on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I am a mother, sister, daughter, auntie, cousin, friend, learner and a teacher living in the unceded and traditional territory of the Pentlatch, Ieeksen and K’omoks First Nations, ‘Gilakas’la’, ʔimot, ƛ ̓eekoo ƛ ̓eekoo. Within the Comox Valley School District, Indigenous Education, my current role is Indigenous Education Curriculum support teacher for the grades 8-12. Please be prepared to listen with your heart.
