Advent, Hanukkah, Winter Solstice Reflections

December 21, 2025: Advent, Hanukkah, & Solstice

These are the stations available in the church on Sunday December 21, 2025 - the fourth Sunday in Advent, the eighth day of Hanukkah, and the Winter Solstice.

If you are practicing at home, you might want a candle (or a few), some paper and a writing utensil, a ribbon, and symbols of earth, air, fire, and water (for example: a stone, a feather, a candle, a small dish of water). Even though you aren’t physically in the space, you are a part of the community. Your prayers can be added to the loom remotely.

Please take as much time as you need with each practice. You may wish to turn off zoom to just explore on your own, perhaps with some gentle music to accompany you.

In these dark days (metaphorically and literally, in the northern hemisphere) when it is tempting to distract or disassociate, acts of ritual, symbolism and community are radical acts of love in the world. When you take this time, you nurture and love yourself and the world around you by adding a little more peace, a little more presence, a little more softness.
